4 ways quality door and window installation can save you money

April 9, 2018 Steve Sherbourne

When the time comes to replace some of the doors and windows in your home or commercial building, you may wonder whether the cost of installing them is worth the benefits it will bring.

Replacing your doors and windows is a long-term investment, as when they’re properly fitted and well-maintained they should last for between 20-30 years.

To save money in the long run and add value to your property, it’s important to choose the right experts for the job, to ensure you’re getting high quality door and window fitting for your money.

Here are four ways choosing high quality door and window installation can ultimately save you money.

Longer working life and avoid expensive fixes

When you invest in experts to select and fit your windows and doors they’ll remain in excellent condition for many years. Regular maintenance is important to extend their working life for as long as possible, but if properly cared for you can avoid needing expensive fixes every few years, as less problems arise and go untreated for long periods. New windows are also low maintenance for you, as they’re easy to keep clean and you don’t need to spend time regularly repainting them.

More energy efficient in terms of regulating temperature

In terms of energy efficiency, it’s common knowledge that old draughty windows can cause your heating or air conditioning bill to skyrocket, and badly fitted doors with gaps underneath can cause similar problems. Expertly fitted new windows and doors can therefore save you a fortune in heating your home, office or school, as well as helping you do your bit for the environment by reducing your carbon footprint.

Increases the value of your property

When it comes to selling your home, new low-maintenance and energy efficient doors and windows will increase your chances of selling it quickly, as buyers can be put off by potentially high energy costs or the need to replace all the windows and doors themselves in a few years. Clean and attractive doors and windows can also smarten up the whole building making it look cared-for and more aesthetically pleasing. This is equally important in giving off the right impression if you’re running a business.

Secures your home from break-ins

Last but certainly not least, replacing old and damaged doors and windows with new, structurally sound ones will make your home more difficult to break in too, thus deterring burglars from attempting forced entry.

We’d therefore recommend replacing any old damaged windows and doors in your property with sleek new ones to save you money and hassle in the long-term. We replace and fit all types of windows and doors, so that you can rest assured that your new windows are safe, attractive and function effectively.

This June Windrush installed 39 Pvcu windows to our student accommodation block at Rewley Abbey Court. The work required them to install the windows while residents were in occupation, some with young children. Windrush carried out a full risk and method statement and appraisal to carry out the works in a safe manner with multi-occupation to consider. Full scaffolding and access booms were used with everything being alarmed and fenced off with appropriate signage in place. The Windrush team involved had all the necessary accreditation holding CSCS cards, asbestos awareness trained, CRB checked etc. The windows were as per our requested specification with Windrush being the most competitive out of the competition. The College are very pleased with all aspects of the work carried out and will be using Windrush on our future projects.

Windrush have installed new pvcu patio doors in the residents homes on site. The window installers being friendly and polite and having a nice demeanour and getting on well with the residents. The work was carried out in a professional manor with their work being clean and tidy all with an insurance baked guarantee. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to others.

I would just like to say that I was very impressed by the two young men who came to do the windows yesterday, they were very efficient, had impeccable manners and they cleared up after themselves which was a joy.

Windrush serviced two Velux windows and re-glazed with new sealed units, re-glazed a bedroom window with three sealed units, and re-glazed a conservatory upgrading sealed units to “Low E Argon” gas and thermal bar

During the School holidays the Windrush team carried out window adaption works for the School. Windrush installed remote window winding equipment to our high level windows that have been a health and safety issue with pupils and staff standing on chairs to open. I can recommend Windrush for their professional approach, competitive pricing and ability to accommodate our requirements during a busy time with many other trades on site. They were willing to change their work schedule to accommodate changing circumstances on site.

Windrush recently attended our Academy and replaced damaged window hinges and handles with great success. The Windrush Team who carried the work out were very professional with the work being carried out during normal School hours. The Health and Safety aspect being covered with the adoption of measures from their risk assessment and method statement being carried out.
